The Birthday Party & 12 month stats

Aubry celebrated her 1st birthday with her favorite family and friends last weekend.
She started off the party a little shy, staying near people she recognized (mostly grandmas) and toys she was familiar with:

She ate a very good dinner - some mostaccioli, fruit salad, and pretzel jello, of course. (just the strawberry jello part)

By then she was ready to party - she was showing off walking by herself all night! (and did not go to bed until 10:30pm!!!)

She even made time for a nice family photo.

She loved when we sang Happy Birthday to her.

But loved the cake even more!

She had great fun playing with the other kids and her new kitchen.

She wasn't a lot of help during present time.. This is about as close as she got:
But she had a much more important job .... organizing ribbon AND
sorting tissue paper! (Is she trying to do the splits in the above picture?!?!)

I had lots of little helpers.. thank you!

and an even bigger thank you to all of the guests!!

Thanks for making her 1st party a GREAT DAY!
~
We scheduled her 12 month check up for a few days after the party, since she was going to get shots, and didn't want have any kind of reaction interfere with her big day. She did great and the doc was impressed by her. She was the cutest that she's ever been. We were in the "farm" room, which has farm animals painted all around. She gravitated toward the duck, cow, and chicken. We asked her to find the cow and she would walk over and put her hands on the cow! Same thing with the duck. It almost even sounded like she was repeating what we were saying, but it was very mumbled. Oh, yes, she survived all three shots.
Here are her stats:

HEIGHT: 31 inches! (95th percentile) She's actually outgrown the baby carrier! It says to use for 30 inches or less. Hmmmm. Time to go shopping for a new carseat I guess!

WEIGHT: 21 lb, 2 oz (51st percentile). No concern - Doc said that being so mobile, she is not taking in as many calories as she is burning, and that is normal at this age. He said on average, babies should have gained 3 times their birth weight by the time they are 1, and Aubry did that!

Stay tuned for our next adventure... perhaps switching from formula to whole milk?.... maybe trying some eggs?... or facing forward in the carseat? It's all very exciting!!
