Movies, Museums, & Swimming

Continuing the busy streak, here's what we did last week:

We took Aubry to the Drive-In Saturday night. It was hot and muggy, but once the sun went down, it wasn't too bad. Toy Story 3 was playing and we really wanted to see it. We weren't sure how Aubry would act, but she actually watched the entire movie!! We got there early enough for her to play in the rocks, but once the movie started, we climbed into the back of the truck and she sat in my lap the entire time. Every once in a while she would get really excited, point up, and say "Aubry!!!". (Not sure why, but it was cute!) We brought the futon mattress for comfort, and after Toy Story 3, Aubry fell asleep in between us. The 2nd movie was Prince of Persia, but the comfort and heat must have gotten to all of us, as Bryan and I also fell asleep for a little bit, so we headed home since we had no clue what was happening in the movie. oh well!

Sunday, after the storm rolled in and canceled the Stasch's birthday party, we decided to still go do something. We invited Teri & Kyri to the DuPage Children's Museum in Naperville. Aubry was ready to go in her Nike shirt and skort from Uncle B and Aunt Les.
The girls had a blast playing.

Aubry was the lunch-time entertainment:

And Kyri found the perfect little playroom that the girls played in for at least half an hour.

Aubry was having so much fun, that she just did not want to leave. Here's the tantrum:

So, Monday started swimming lessons. It's a short 30 minute lesson at an indoor pool pretty close to the house. Aubry has no problem going in the water with me, but doesn't really understand the activities we are supposed to be doing. She's supposed to splash and kick and reach for the wall, and use a pool noodle, all while singing songs. We even go under water (well, not the mommies, just the babies). Monday's class had 3 dunks. The first and last were really good, but the 2nd one inhaled some water. Tuesday's first dunk was good, but the 2nd was so much water we didn't get to a third. And today's dunk actually made her cry. I felt bad. She wanted to get out of the water, but I wouldn't let her and she hung in there - which I'm glad, becuase she actually did most of the activities! I think going to an actual pool to play last night helped her enjoy the activities a little more. We went to Brian & Leslie's clubhouse pool with the Stasch's. They had the perfect size kiddie pool and it was just the right temperature. The big pool's water was even warmer - and we practically had the place to ourselves. We had a ton of fun!
WEEE! (Aubry did not actually go down the whole slide in this picture..she went from barely half way - and there's a huge grin on her face)
Only 6 inches deep - she was amazed that she could stand on her own!

Even though she could stand in most spots, she preferred her new car, so she could float and watch Ethan & Sophia go down the slide.

Aubry even made it to the big pool!

What a perfect picture!

But boy, was it chilly when we got out.

We headed back to the Boston's for some grillin'

Yay! Mia's awake and wants to party with us!
After some running around outside, a good dinner, some dancing, and dessert, it was pj time.

We have lots of busy days ahead of us, so stay tuned!
