Butterflies - 1st Movie - 1st Crush

Aubry had a busy week last week. Every morning we left the house at 930am for a 10 o'clock swim lesson. I signed her up for another parent-tot class, at the same outdoor pool as last year. The water has been A LOT chillier than last year, which has made for some whiny lessons, but overall, Aubry loves the water, and is learning a few things, even though most of the time she wants to do a different activity than what the teacher tells us to do. If we are supposed to practice kicking, she wants to jump in. If we are practicing jumping in, she wants to do a backwards blast off, off the wall. If we are singing the hokey pokey she wants it to be "toys time"... I think you get the point. But despite the whines and stubbornness, I do think she is secretly listening.

A few days after class, we have gone out for some play dates.
Tuesday we went to lunch with Grandma Karen and did some shopping at Fox Valley Mall.
Thursday we went to Peck Farm Park in Geneva to meet Grandma Nancy, Aunt Susie, cousin Kailey, Aunt Teri, Kyri, and Baby Tessa to sit in a butterfly house. It seemed like a giant screen house, filled with beautiful flowers, a small pond, and butterflies everywhere!! It was very relaxing to be in the environment. The adults just sat and watched all the butterflies flying around. The 2 little ones were all over the place trying to get a butterfly to land on them. (Unfortunately, the only people that had butterflies land on them were me and Teri!!)

Friday after lessons, we met Grandma Karen for lunch and then took Aubry to her first movie theater experience. It was opening day of the new Winnie the Pooh movie. I told her we were going to watch a movie on a really big TV with other people. She was so excited that she got her own chair. We brought her chocolate milk from lunch (recently her favorite thing to drink) and snacks, but Grandma bought some popcorn!!

She was so cute during the movie. If some of Pooh's friends "left" (because the story didn't involve them) she got all worried and would ask me where they went. There was a short part of the movie that she got a little scared, but it was over before she knew it. She clapped at the end. Now every time we see a preview for the movie when we are at home, she asks to watch it.

Friday night I got together with my good friends and their kids. I think Aubry has her first crush. She adores 3 1/2 year old Josh. She followed him everywhere and wanted to play whatever he was playing. They tried so hard to hold hand while they were running (and succeeded sometimes).

I didn't get a picture because my camera batteries died, but once we were inside for the night, Josh and Aubry were caught laying on the floor (extremely close) snuggling. It was totally harmless and super cute.
