Where have we been?

I know, I know... I have heard from many of you how very disapointed you have been since we haven't been keeping you updated. LOTS of things have been going on, keeping us from posting, including a few days with NO internet (nothing that a 3 hour phone call to comcast didn't fix...just the way I love to spend my Saturday mornings). So here's what you've been missing:

Friday 8/29:
Bryan and I took a trip to World Furniture Mall in Plano and found a dining room table and hutch that we love so we bought it! It gets delivered Sept. 13th, which means a painting project is in our very near future.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND:
We enjoyed the beautiful weather by finally getting the boat out! The boat hasn't been out since Canada and was due for a trip. Bryan and I went up to Lake Delevan 8/30 and "fished". (the quotes will disapear when something actually gets caught..). Then we drove to the Burritt's lake house in Davis, IL, on Lake Summerset. Teri made a delicious lasagna and we celebrated Kyle's 29th birthday. We took an evening stroll on the lake in the Burritt boat, played a game of NERTZ (which Bryan and I won), then stayed the night. Sunday morning we woke up and put Bryan's boat in their lake to go "fishing". Again, no fishies =(. When we got back to the house, Bryan's parents were there, so we all headed across the street to the beach. Teri and I floated in the water, while the boys went tubing. Unfortunately there was no camera on the boat to catch their action, but they had a great time. We had another great dinner that night, then headed home. Here are some pics of the weekend:

Getting ready to tube!

Monday we had a relaxing day around the house, then met Brian, Leslie, Ed, Lisa, Sophia, and Ethan for dinner in downtown Naperville at Ted Montana's Grill, where we ate outside. It was sooo nice out! We had a nice time sitting outside hanging out. On the way home, Bryan treated me to some ColdStone =)

Saturday 9/6:
While I battled with comcast over the phone, Bryan ran errands to buy paint and paint supplies, then came home and got to work. He finished cutting in, and one coat all in time for the Notre Dame game. Sandy helped us pick the color, frasier fir, which is in the green family. It looks awesome and we can't wait for the new furniture to come!
Saturday night we celebrated Josh's 1st birthday at John's Pizza with Jennifer, Julie, Kristi, Carrie, and Carrie's family.
Here are some paint snap shots:

Sunday 9/7:
We decided that the dining room could use 1 more coat, so Bryan stretched out the rest of the paint that was left over for it to just cover 3 walls... so close! We'll have to buy one little can so we can finish the 2nd coat on Wednesday night.
This fall, Bryan is playing on a 30 or older Lombard baseball league (this is what he was most looking forward to about turning 30). He got his college friend, Mark, to join, too, so the pitching/catching duo is back together again! Their team name is "Team Advil" Ha! Their 2nd game was this afternoon, so I went to cheer them on. Sabrina and the kids were there too, and my mom stopped by as well. We were dedicated fans, and they even won!! Now they are 1-1. They play every Thursday and Sunday at Madison Meadows, field 17 or 18. These are the fields that I grew up watching Brian play ball... way back when the concession stand would give a piece of gum for collecting foul balls. (I was wondering if they would still do that, but they were closed). Here are some shots of the college buds:
So, there you have it! We are as busy as ever, and I have survived the first 7 days of school. Cross your fingers, but I think I have a really good group so far for this semester!!! This week will test it: it is our first full week, and I am already having my first evaluation! Tomorrow will be the first Monday in 2 years that I will actually be home before the sunsets since I have NO MORE MASTERS CLASS!!!! =)
