2 weeks old!

I can't believe that Aubry is 2 weeks old already. The time is flying by. The days go by so fast, but I don't seem to get anything done except feed Aubry and change her diapers. Occasionally I will nap while she naps. Since it has been so long since our last post, I opted out of today's nap to fill you in on what she's been busy with.

On her 3rd day home, Bryan and I took Aubry to her first doctor appointment. It was a big day out. The appointment went well - everything looked good - but her weight was not back to the birthweight yet (which is normal) so we made an appointment to come back and check her weight. After her doctor appointment I had to get my blood drawn because when we left the hospital my blood platelets were low (but they are back up and normal now). Since we were in Naperville, we ventured to Babies R Us and Costco... Aubry's first shopping trip! She slept the entire time (which we were thankful for).
The very next day (Wednesday) Auntie Jennifer came over to play. She visited us in the hospital, but there was a lot going on the day she came, so we were excited for her visit. Julie and Kurt came over to meet Aubry as well!

Thursday was my very first day alone with Aubry, as Bryan was back at work, and no visitors planned on coming. We did very well, just the two of us!
On Friday Bryan stayed home so we could take Aubry to a hearing clinic because she failed her hearing test in her right ear. We were not concerned, as a lot of newborns fail often, because of extra fluid swishing around inside from birth. She had to lay completely silent and still for the test - a task not so easy for an 8 day old - but she did VERY well - and PASSED! After the doctor, we traveled to Villa Park to visit Grandma while Bryan went to a work meeting. We stayed all afternoon and had a great dinner with Grandma and Grandpa.
Saturday was another day just the two of us - with a short visit from Grandma Nancy. Bryan was fishing with his team (sectionals are this week!) and then ran some errands for me.
Sunday was another busy day. It was sooo nice out, so Bryan took Aubry outside for some sunbathing and to meet her stork! She seemed to enjoy the nice weather, but not so much with the sun directly in her face.

And then Sunday night....... we had our first explosion on daddy's shirt.....
which meant BATH TIME!

And of course some cuddle time.
On Monday, Grandma came over to come to the doctor with us for the weight check. Aubry was really close to her birthweight, but still a little under, so we go back again on Monday for another weight check. I guess we need to feed her more! Grandma Nancy also came by for a visit, so Aubry got lots of Grandma time!
Yesterday, Auntie Teri came to visit on her lunch break. Thank goodness! Aubry was very fussy all Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, and had finally fallen asleep, so Aunt Teri held her so I could have some lunch.
This weekend will be quite an adventure:
Bryan has his bass fishing sectionals all day on Friday; I am chaperoning prom on Saturday, so it will be a daddy-daughter day! And Sunday is Kyri's baptism, so Aubry will finally get to meet her cousin - we are very excited!

Beautiful job again, Kay. Aubry is turning out to be quite the social butterfly. Too bad about that explosion on Daddy! Grandma has a few things here for her precious angel. I can't imagine how I found myself wandering the isles at Buy Buy Baby yesterday!

Thinking about you three all the time! Glad to hear that all is going well. Let us know if anything is needed. We are more than happy to help! Was going to call you the other day, Kay, for just a chit-chat. Again, can't wait to see you all again! xoxo
