Island Party
Our last chance at a real island vacation before we all head back to school. Grandma Karen invited the grandmas, daughters, and granddaughters to her island fun party. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch and the girls would've splashed all day in the pool if they could.

Aubry & Kyri had their own special lunch of Grape Jelly Sandwiches cut into fun shapes (with a side of chips, of course)
Mia relaxed in the shade while we ate. What a cutie!!
Some POOL time!!
As in previous posts, Aubry is making sure that Mia still has her nose. (A side note: Aubry is actually saying Mia now!! So cute. Sounds like MEEEEya)
Aw, how cute! All of Aubry's cousins...
Arts & Crafts
To make the island party more festive, I tried a new dessert. It's very easy, just a little delicate and time consuming, depending on how many you make.
Sandals on beach towels on the beach:
Here's proof that it was ME that made them - apron and all! (Who knew white elephant gifts would actually come in handy??)
Another artsy project made by me: A stool for time-outs. Yes, we are getting to that stage. Aubry just loves to explore, but sometimes isn't the best listener. She often climbs on things she should absolutley not (like tables), and has been caught hitting when she doesn't get her way. I feel bad for giving her time outs, so I decorated a stool for her =)
Sunday officially concluded summer for me. We had a perfect outing to Lincoln Park for a 3K family walk (you could have also chosen to do a 5K run...hence the name of the event). The main reason I wanted to go was so Aubry could meet some of her favorite characters that she watched over the summer. She pointed each of them out, as if she recognized them, and gave them lots of high-fives. She didn't seem scared of them at all. I carried her up to the first few, but then put her down later on to see how close she would get (not too close, but she didn't run away). We stood in line to see her favorites:

That fun & run looked like so much fun. Wish we were free to join you. Aubry will be all ready to meet Mickey and friends now!
WOW You've really had a great summer. So many activities and outings. School might be a rest. We'll have to make the "Island GetAway Party" an annual thing. Next year, Mia will be in the pool just like Aubry & Kyri. Hope everyone had fun.

It was a fun summer for you! The Island GetAway Party was the perfect ending! So much fun. The only good thing about school starting is now I get to see the girls more often...love those little faces!
