Fairs, Fishies & Fun

Aubry spent the Saturday before Father's Day at Prairie Fest (Oswego's summer fest) with her daddy, grandparents and cousin Mia (uncle B and aunt Les were there, too). There were a few clouds in the sky that seemed to scare the crowds away. Aubry got to see (and touch) some animals, loved riding the kiddie rides, and partied on our blanket after she ate some delicious fair food.

She was so excited to wave at us every time the ride went around and around and around. She had the most fun out of all the kids on all the rides.

Such a serious driver..

She loved the Dizzy Dinosaur. She wanted to spin the wheel herself and giggled the whole time while we spun faster and faster.

Mia is growing up so fast! She loved dancing on the blanket and sharing food.

While playing too hard, Aubry got injured. Poor Grandpa Dale's tooth went into her forehead, right above her eyebrow. She was a trooper and hardly cried while we were cleaning it up and bandaging in. There's a chance it may scar, but it is still healing.

On Father's Day, we had a delicious brunch at Grandma Nancy & Grandpa Mike's house with all the aunts and uncles. Then just the three of us headed to a lake so Aubry could catch her first fish! I was so proud of her for touching it - I wouldn't even touch it.

This past weekend, Aubry seemed extra attached to "Baby" and "Aura". She snuggled with them the entire way to dinner Saturday night, and then brought them mini-golfing afterwards. (Which, she told us her favorite color was blue - the first time she has ever said a phrase like that)

Sunday afternoon we packed a lunch and went to cruise down the Illinois River. Aubry thought the boat had to be used for fishing, so we floated to the side so we could "fish". No hooks, no bait, just casting and reeling. She had a blast!!

She has quite the personality lately. Definitely in her two's. She can be very challenging to be around - if she doesn't get her way - oh the tantrum she can throw. But then she does a 180 and is the cutest to be around. Here are some of her latest "I'm in a cute mood" pictures:
Turning daddy into a horse - with reigns!

Needing a tutu and bow in her hair with her jammies

Every morning we spend some time on the floor coloring (you can see how her injury above her left eye is still healing)

TRIVIA TIME: Can you count how many times she spins? She was dancing with her reflection in the door, but by the time I got the camera on her, all she did was spin and spin and ... well, you'll see if you press play =)
