Many people said we were crazy. Maybe we thought we were a little crazy, too. But the Family of Five survived their 1st road trip to.... DISNEYWORLD!!
The Story:
FRIDAY: We left Friday night (of Memorial Day weekend) at 1045 pm. All 3 kids were asleep.
SATURDAY: Bryan drove til 2, we stopped for gas, I drove til 4, Bryan drove til 5:30 - then the babies started waking up. We found a Cracker Barrel in Bowling Green KY that opened at 6, so we fed the babies in the rockers on the porch, then went inside for breakfast. (Grady was snatched out of Bryan's arms by a "grandma" on our way out, kind of weird). We drove and drove and drove some more, stopping twice for gas and feedings. Aubry slept most of the day, until we made it to Macon, GA. Bryan took Aubry swimming to tire her out, so we could all go to bed right after 'dinner' (it was like 8pm). We stayed at a Hometown Inn that had a little kitchen, so we made some tortellini.
SUNDAY: Woke up and got on the road, 6 more hours!! Only had to stop once for feedings and gas. Met my mom and dad in the lobby and got our room keys. The 2 bedroom villa was AWESOME!! Aubry shared a room with Grandma and Grandpa, the twins shared a room with Bryan and me. We unpacked everything, had tacos and nachos for dinner, made a plan for Monday, then went fast asleep.
MONDAY: Enjoyed breakfast on the balcony while we watched ducks swimming. Went to the nearest pool. It started POURING! (Dale in the pool while during the pouring rain). Ran back to our room. Decided it was bath time for the 3 kids (and Bryan). Had lunch and relaxed in room while weather cleared up. Drove to lobby to walk around the store. There was a nice boardwalk on the back of the lobby so we walked around and found the big pool (closed due to weather). Headed back to make dinner (parmesan crusted chicken from Kraft), gathered necessary materials for Tuesday's outing, and went to bed.
