Busy Week

It has been so hot, and with handling twins, we have been inside all day long, for days at a time. Aubry and I are going stir crazy, so I am finally starting to venture out during the day!!
MONDAY: PJ day (gearing up for the busy week ahead)
TUESDAY: Met a college friend at a park near Centennial Beach, downtown Naperville. Jenn has a daughter exactly 1 year younger than Aubry, who's name is Raegan, and goes by Rae. Aubry thought that was the coolest thing that they had the same name! She also just had a son in April, so we were both looking forward to getting out of the house and talking to another adult!!
WEDNESDAY: We met Grandma Karen at Cosley Zoo in Wheaton. Despite the small amount of animals to see, we still had a good time. We spent longer having a picnic lunch than we did seeing animals. We went back to Grandma Karen's for some ice cream, then headed home for a 5 month photo shoot.. I can't believe I have 5 month old twins!!
THURSDAY: We met Teri, Kyri, and Tessa at the Butterfly House at Peck Farm in Geneva. To our surprise, Pop, Sue, and Josh arrived while we were there. The girls were super excited to see them. Then we had a picnic lunch.
FRIDAY: We went to Aunt Mary's pool with Grandma Karen and Brittany. I hung out in the shade with Morgyn and Grady while everyone else played. Then we went inside to cool off and had a delicious lunch!!
SATURDAY: Left the house a little after 10am, went to Bed Bath & Beyond, Michael's, Old Navy, Shoe Carnival, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Bass Pro. The storm came rolling through on our way home. We lost power before we arrived, so the garage door wouldn't open, and we grabbed Bryan's keys that don't have a house key on it.... so we were locked out. Luckily, Grandpa Mike just picked up Grandma Nancy from the airport from her Israel trip, so we hung out there until 7:30pm. Long day, but FUN!

It was good to keep Aubry busy this week because she found out that her best neighbor friends moved away. Almost every night (before she found out) before and after dinner she would hang out by the back door and call for them "Sam and Nate..... Sam and Nate... Same and Nate" or she would simply tell us at dinner "I'm going to play with Sam and Nate". Most of those nights no one was even outside playing, but one night they were.... They will be missed!

Grady, an evening after one of our busy outings-

Morgyn really wanted some fruit

 Butterflies-

No strollers are allowed inside, so Morgyn sweat a few pounds off in the carrier, while Grady let me sweat a few pounds off while I carried him

Oy, rough day

Hmm... somebody wanted some attention while I was taking pics of Morgyn-
Bedtime lately- Bryan and I leave the living room for a few minutes, turning all lights off except tv. She started calling us because she heard a noise. When we came back in, this is how she fell asleep, holding her ears.

Brittany meeting the twins!
Someone has GOT to get this girl into ballet (I know, it's my job). We found a class through the Oswego Park District, but since we aren't residents, can't register til end of August. Hope the class isn't full!

M & G's Routine. Grady is usually the 1st one up, between 5:45 and 6:30. He will polish off 4 oz easily, and soon after, eats another 2 oz. Morgyn wakes up between 7 and 8, and does the same. We will soon be using the bigger bottles, allowing them to have 6 oz all at once. After eating, they usually go in the saucer for 30-45 minutes. Sometimes there is a poopy diaper to change, otherwise, nap time. Grady will fall asleep on his own in the pack n play quickly. It takes Morgyn a little longer to fall asleep and sometimes needs the swing. Both are back up for another bottle between 10 and 11, and the pattern continues: eat, play, nap; eat, play, nap. It is SO nice that they are on a bit of a schedule when we are home all day. It gives me the chance to get some things done (like shower, blog, and play with Aubry). Occasionally the schedule alternates, where Grady will be napping and Morgyn playing, but then Grady will wake up, have a bottle, and Morgyn will take a nap.
They are starting to recognize that there is another baby around. When they are laying on the ground, they kick each other and pull each other's clothes. When they sit next to each other they grab at each other and sometimes talk. At 6pm, no matter what time their last bottle was, they are both usually screaming for food - just in time for us to sit down for dinner! We will give them a quick 4oz, then sit them in the bumbo chairs on the dining room table so they can watch us eat, and then give them some baby food. They are eating carrots and peas. They are currently sharing 1/2 of a container at each sitting, but Grady loves eating this way so much, he could probably polish off the entire container himself. Again, around 8, both want more food, so they have been getting 6 oz, and that usually fills them up for the night. They have been going to bed closer to 9 lately.
Here they are, hanging out this morning-
