Santa meets Aubry....

...and her alternate personality....
She was so good while we waited in line (1 hour at Woodfield). She was so excited and played with the little girl in front of us. There were lots of things to look at while we were in line. Each "family" got to go into the snow room alone. Fake snow was falling from the ceiling. Aubry had a ton of fun in the snow room when it was her turn. She picked it up from the ground and threw it in the air. It got all over her clothes, hair, and shoes. She thought it was really cool that it was stuck to the bottom of her shoes. After the snow room, we were next in line to sit on Santa's lap. We talked about it over and over to prepare her that she would sit and say hi and then take a picture. When the little girl in front of us hopped down, Aubry looked at me with bright eyes and said "It's my turn?". I told her we had to wait for the elf to tell us it was okay to go say hi. When the elf called Aubry over, she all of a sudden was hiding in between my legs. It was not an easy task to get her even close to Santa, so I picked her up and sat her on the right side (Santa's left). There was a small stool to right of the scene, where I could sit right next to Aubry, but not be in the picture. Well, with me sitting there, Aubry was facing me, reaching for me. Two of four pictures were taken with her reaching away from Santa. Our alternate approach was for me to remove myself from the scene and have Santa pick her up and sit her on his other side. She was squirming so hard to get away from him, he had to squeeze her so tight. I think he is the one that squeezed the smile out of her!! Leaning forward, trying to escape, this is what we captured:

She had no response as to why she got so scared at the last minute. Oh well, she's only 2. I just hope she is a good helper next year when we try to squeeze all 3 kids onto Santa's lap!!!! We had a fun rest of the afternoon with Grandma Karen by having lunch at Rainforest Cafe and playing dress up in princess clothes, shoes, and crowns at the Disney Store.

She looks great! You never would know.

It's so funny to see how they react... it's a surprise each year!
