Zoo Lights / 25 weeks

We took our 2nd annual trip to Brookfield Zoo to see some animals and bright lights. We had complete cooperation with the weather - the rain stopped a couple hours before the event, and stayed dry the rest of the night!! And it definitely was not as cold as last year, although we still bundled up.

Aubry & Mia all bundled up...
 ...telling secrets!!
A little too close?? This was the first lion I've ever seen moving. He was pacing in front of the glass, as if he were stalking all of the people watching him.
A lot of the "cats" were out and moving - we were all in awe, watching them!
The girls got up close and personal to a snow leopard
The wagon didn't last too long. I guess we brought it to hold all the blankets. Daddy carried Aubry the majority of our time at the zoo.

Carousel time!!
Mia chose the baboon (not her daddy, what she's sitting on!!) Aunt Les rode the kangaroo.

But the coolest place to ride is the bench. Just like the posts over the summer, once 'carousel' was mentioned, Aubry jumped up and exclaimed "I get to sit on the bench!". Earlier in the evening she had professed that giraffe is her favorite animal (and was quite sad when they were not out for to see any), so we tried to convince her to ride the giraffe. We ended up on the bench, but once the ride was over, she decided she could handle the giraffe. But since we only had tickets for one ride, all she got was a picture.

25 weeks
Today marks 25 weeks along, which means 13 more weeks to go - at the most!! That does not sound like a lot of time at all. I'm sure the next few weeks will fly by with holiday gatherings, bringing us right into 2012, and Jack & Jill will be here before we know it!!

At my 24 week appointment, everything looked great. They move like crazy, and I'm starting to see the movements, not just feel them. "Jill" is on my left side, head down, completely stretched out. "Jack" is sort of curled up on top of her, near the top right side of me. Because he is on top of her, we couldn't get a good glimpse of her profile - just her legs sticking straight out. But we could see "Jack"'s face just fine - even saw him open and close his mouth a few times! It was pretty cool. "Jack" is about 1 lb 8oz, and "Jill" is just below that. The next couple of weeks is when they have the biggest growth spurt, so I'm crossing my fingers that I still feel just as great, even though I may be twice as large.
School and grad class have been pretty busy lately, so I seem to be more tired. I am really looking forward to winter break for some more relaxation and time with Aubry. TEN more school days! It's bittersweet to think that these next couple months are the last ones with just Aubry, so I'm trying to have as much fun as I can with her (even when she throws a tantrum for an hour because she doesn't want to brush her teeth).
