At today's appointment, lots of measurements were taken during the ultrasound to give us an estimation of the babies weights. Right now, Baby A is getting a little bigger than Baby B. Baby A is about 4 lbs, 3 oz, and Baby B is 3 lbs 13 oz. Still so very very tiny. The next time measurements will be taken for a weight estimate is at the 36 week appointment (let's hope we make it that far). I am hoping that they are in (or very close) to the 5 lb range.
-- After doing some googling, it seems as though many twins born at 36 weeks or past, are actually closer to 6 lbs!! I would be very happy with that, even though that means about 12 lbs of baby in me. That just seems crazy.

The doctor used the tape measure from the bottom of my belly to the top, and it is measuring 40 cm. (for a singleton, that is the size of a full term (40 week) baby!) For twins, it really doesn't mean anything.
My appointments are officially once a week. I made all of them back in September, assuming I would still be working, so they were all 4:45 appointments or later. These appointments are a lot longer because they are putting the babies on the monitor and checking their heart rates, as well as watching for contractions. The heart rates need to accelerate and decelerate a certain amount of times during a 20 minute time span. If the babies are cooperative, then I could be on and off the monitors in 20 minutes, however, if they aren't cooperating, it could take up to an hour! Since these longer appointments are taking time away from me seeing Aubry, I switched them all to afternoon appointments - hey, I have nothing else to do :)
Let the couch rest continue!!
