Aubry has been very animated lately. Ever since she started reading the Easter book (a few posts ago), she has loved "reading" books on her own. She will grab a few, hop into a chair or take them into another room, and you can hear her tiny little voice reading out loud. She has an amazing memory and can recite the main points of each page. (I think the pictures help her make a connection). She has also been caught singing some of her bedtime lullabies. (When I take her to bed there is a 6 song routine: Twinkle Little Star, Rock-a-Bye Baby, Bye Baby Bunting, I Love You Forever, ABC, and Rock-a-Bye Aubry). Sometimes, there is a 7th, but it's not really a lullaby; it is a "5 little monkey" story ((5 little monkeys swinging in the tree) that Jennifer taught us, complete with hand motions. We were lucky enough to experience Aubry telling us the 5 little monkey story as we sat down for dinner one night - (the parts that you can't hear, she is whispering "quiet as can be" -
Mia has been visiting us each Wednesday and it has been a blast. There is always a picnic lunch, but the rest of the day is unpredictable. Luckily our handy video camera was near me when Aubry suggested Ring Around the Rosie-
Morgyn & Grady Update
M: most of the time she will sleep at night from 10-6. Every once in a while she will wake up around 4 for a bottle, but not very often. When she does sleep through, she will easily take a 6oz bottle when she wakes up. She is awake for about a 2-3 hour stretch in the late morning, then again early evening. When she's awake we let her play on the floor mat. She naps in the boppy, in her chair, or in the pack n play. If she's lucky, she'll get to nap in arms, but it doesn't happen too often for her. For her "bedtime" bottle, she usually does not fall asleep eating, but is okay just being placed in her cradle wide awake until she falls asleep. Occasionally I will have to give her a pacifier and rock the cradle a little.
G: is sleeping more at night!! He has done a 10-6 stretch once or twice, otherwise he is up around 3 or 4. He is getting acid reflux medicine twice a day; in the morning around 7:30am and then again in the evening (8ish). He still will lose his bottle with a burp pretty often. We are trying a 3rd formula. We went from Similac normal, to Similac fussiness & gas, to Similac spit up. This 3rd one is a lot thicker. The amount of times he pukes hasn't really changed, but the amount of liquid that comes back up seems to be smaller - most of the time. He can still soak a burp towel once in a while (or a shirt, if you aren't paying attention). We see the doctor next Friday (for their 2 month appointments already!) so we will be talking about his improvements (or lack there of). He is not a great napper. He seems very tired, but is a snuggle hog. If he falls asleep in your arms and you lay him down, he will wake up almost instantly, unless he is transferred into the lamb swing. He is the swing hog, too. At bedtime, he usually falls asleep eating his bedtime bottle and will transfer into his cradle, only to wake up a little bit later to be burped, then falls back asleep. His awake/alert time is almost the same as Morgyn, but he doesn't really get to "play" since we try to keep him upright so he doesn't spit up.
Morgyn finally got to meet Kristi!! They must have chatted on the phone to coordinate their outfits-

I ran an errand on Sunday, and when I returned, Bryan was playing silly songs on Aubry's guitar. He put Grady and Morgyn in their bumbo chairs for the first time!! Grady loved the sound of the music. Look at him chillin'-

I am SOOOO happy you got the monkeys and the alligator on video!! My favorite song that Aubry sings to me....I laugh all the way through it is so darn cute!!
Love the videos of Aubry, and the Bumbo pics make the twins look so grown up!! (Also, I'm assuming that Morgyn's shirt is referring to this aunt, right???) : )
