Adios, Ya Piece of Toast!

It is sad to say, but our trip has come to an end. It is our last night camping. Tomorrow morning we will empty the tanks, unplug our electricity, bring in the slide-out, start the RV and head home. See? I'm even procrastinating leaving right now, thinking of stuff that will take up time before we have to leave! This was the best trip ever! The best plan, the best stops, the best scenes, the best husband! We had such a good time. The plan we created fit perfectly. We were on schedule for everything, even our dinner menu!
Ok, ok, I'll stop running on and on and let you know about our last few days of RVing. Friday morning we left our amazing Colorado Springs site at 8:30 and drove and drove and drove, and drove some more (I even drove for about 200 miles) until we got to Lawrence, KS, which is just east of Kansas City. We got to our site around 7:30. We made a couple stops (gas, lunch, change drivers), plus we came back into the central time zone, so we actually LOST an hour! It felt like we were driving forever. Well, we were. When we got there, our dinner menu said we were having "MUSGO", which means "MUST GO!" We just had leftover pulled pork, noodles, and porkchops. After eating, we watched a movie, then hit the hay. Oh yah--it was about 95 degrees in the shade, so that's why we stayed in the few hours of daylight.
So that brings us to this morning. We left around 8:30 again, and took a 5 hour trip to Stanton, MO, home of the Meramec Caves. We toured the caves and saw stalagtites and stalagmites (you know, those rock formations that grow from the ceiling and floor? You know how to remember which one is which?: stalagmites-as in you MIGHT hurt yourself if you sit on it, so it grows from the floor). The tour was a little over an hour, and was pretty cool, despite the screaming kids in our tour group. Our KOA was right down the street, so we had lots of time to relax here. We had an early dinner (filets!), Bryan took a dip in the pool, I caught up on some reading, then we made the best dessert ever! A modern smore: we used our pudgy pie iron skillets, buttered bread (for the outside, like a grilled cheese), spread pb inside, but a piece of chocolate bar and 1 marshmallow, then grilled away! DELICIOUS! especially with a glass of milk. So we just finished doing the dishes and are going to watch another movie before going to bed. We plan to leave tomorrow around 8, so we can get home early afternoon (we are hoping 2ish). From there we will be unpacking. Bryan will return the RV Monday morning, where his truck is, then go to work. I will be doing lots and lots of laundry on Monday.
We hope you enjoyed traveling with us! It was so much fun sharing with everyone. And now we will have these written memories forever! Feel free to comment on any of our posts from the trip. We like reading your thoughts.
Oh yah-the title of this post is a quote from the very great Patrick Graham!

I must say, you guys are awesome RV-ers. You seem to have thought of EVERYTHING and were very well organized. And Kay, you sure do retain a lot of information!! I feel like I would have NO idea where I had been and what I saw! We're glad you're home though - we'd like to see all the pictures!
