We arrived to a very gloomy, rainy Boston about 2:00 in the afternoon on Tuesday. Our original plan was to walk the Freedom Trail, which is a 2.5 mile walk along historic buildings, but since it was raining, we changed our plan. Instead, we walked a few blocks and purchased tickets to tour Fenway Park. We took the subway (stroller and all) and walked around the entire park because we couldn't find where the tour met. We finally found the starting point and took the tour. It was very neat. Despite the dreary rain, there were some indoor and covered areas. We were on top of the bleachers, in the press box, on top of the Green Monster, and in the lower deck original seats (very small and close together, possibly where the WAVE originated because once one person stood up to get out, the entire row had to, which meant the entire row behind them had to stand in order to see the game, and so on...). After the tour we enjoyed some food at the Bleacher Bar. Bryan got a corned beef sandwich and I had a grilld cheese with Irish bacon. We also got some soft pretzel sticks. It was delicious after a long walk in the rain.
Wednesday morning's weather looked much better. We still didn't walk the Freedom Trail because we decided to take an Old Time Trolley Tour so that we could see as much of Boston as we could, in our short time there. This tour had a great bus driver with that authentic Boston accent. He narrated the attractions around us through the tour, and we were able to get on and off at certain spots because so many trolleys drive through. We liked our driver so much that we waited until the very end to get off, at the USS Constitution. After that, we trolley-hopped to a little shopping market, where Bryan made a purchase for the Knutson Invitational. You will know it by the picture in the slideshow.
We walked back to the hotel where we checked out and headed toward D.C. We were in Boston for about 23 hours but saw a lot of sites and enjoyed it very much.
