Traveling Trio

Hello to everyone from our vacation. We have been a very busy traveling trio! So busy, that we will be home in 3 days, but this is the first chance I've had to blog! And since we have more planned for today, I will only update you on the first 2 days of our trip.
Our trip started last Friday, leaving Bryan's office at 12:15 in the afternoon. We arrived at our hotel in New York at 10:15. A 10 hour trip. It was probably only 8 hours of driving time, but we needed to stop a few times for Aubry. She was very good in the car, although, she needed company in the back seat until she fell asleep. As expected, she let us know when she was starving, so we would give her a bottle in the car, and then pull off to take her out and burp her and change her diaper. During these stops we would give ourselves a snack or pb & j. It really worked out very well!
Saturday morning we got up, checked out of the hotel at 10 (a quick 12 hr stay), and headed to Niagara Falls....
On one of our stops, Aubry wanted to play "driver"

It was a bit wet at Niagara

but at least we saw this awesome rainbow!

We were only at Niagara Falls for a couple of hours. We came, we saw, we ate, we left. We had another 8 hour drive to get to Vermont, so we wanted to get on the road as soon as possible. We were adventurous and took an alternate route from what Margo was telling us. (For those of you who don't know who Margo is, she is our GPS voice). We drove through some scenic parts of Adirondack park, which was a nice change of scenery from interstate driving. There is a large lake in between New York and Vermont, so instead of driving all the way around it, we drove ON it! Well, we drove onto a ferry that would take us across it. The ferry left at 8:30 and we arrived at 8:29. Unfortunately, we spent the cash we had on us at Wendy's for lunch and dinner, so Aubry and I were stow-aways. The lady at the ferry let us on for free since we only had enough money for the truck and 1 passenger. OOPS!

It was a really cool experience! The ferry got us safely across Lake Champlain and into Vermont. We got to our hotel about 9:30 and started to plan our 2 1/2 days in Vermont. Stay tuned for the next post to find out what we did!
