Traveling Trio Cont...

Vermont was awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent there. We arrived Saturday night too late to do anything but check in to our hotel and crash. We woke up pretty early on Sunday and planned on driving on some scenic byways, but when we asked the front desk for their suggestion, they persuaded us to drive to the town of Stowe (a well known ski area). The town reminded us of a little Swiss Villiage. There, we took a Gondola ride (not like Italy). It was basically an indoor ski lift. We went up to about 4000 feet to the top of the ski area. Afterwards, we continued our drive past Stowe to what is called Smuggler's Noche....a skinny winding road through the mountain pass with a couple waterfall views. It was nice scenery, but very close together, we drove right by and weren't fast enough to get the camera out. We ended up in the town of Burlington for dinner. Ironically, we ate at Pizzeria Uno! After dinner we played a round of mini-golf, then turned in for the night.
Monday was another busy day. We got up early again and headed back to Stowe, where the Ben & Jerry's factory is. We took the tour of how the company started, got a free sample, got a paid-for sample (you can never eat too much ice cream, can you?), and walked through the graveyard of retired flavors. From there we drove through a very old covered bridge on our way to the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory. We took their tour, played with some teddy bears, then had a little picnic and nap outside in the shade. After Aubry's nap we went to downtown Burlington where we relaxed in the shade until Ethan Allen III docked and we boarded for a 2 1/2 hour sunset cruise. After the cruise we went back to the hotel.
We woke up early Tuesday, checked out of the hotel, and took a scenic route to view more covered bridges on our way out of Vermont, towards Boston.
Enjoy some pictures of what you just read about!
